Volunteer of the Year
In a community ceremony in January this year Club Director Joe Farrugia was awarded Volunteer of the Year for his role as President of Western Sydney Cycling Network. He is key member of the volunteer group that rides every Thursday. The group reconditions bikes to be put back into the community instead of going into landfill. Joe also in involved in teaching school children in Fairfield how to ride a bike. The ceremony was part of Fairfield City Council’s Australia Day celebrations where local community came together to celebrate volunteering and also welcoming 20 new Australians into our community. Mayor Frank Carbone described this year’s winners as examples for all our community.
