Migrant and Refugees Hospitality Taster Course

In March this year Club hosted a Hospitality Taster course for newly arrived migrants and refugees living in our local community. This was in partnership with Core Communities and TAFE NSW.
16 students were introduced to the course. Over the weeks they were taught the basics of hospitality operations. The course allowed the participants to also learn in a live situation making coffees (up and coming baristas) and teas on an espresso machine. It was a short 8-week course designed to help them better understand some of the basics of starting a career in hospitality and in particular in clubs. In April the Club also supported a business breakfast that focussed on engaging local business to look at employment opportunities in this sector. Cabra Vale Diggers proudly supports these community initiatives.
